1. Why did Amplifi acquire Comma Group?
Answer: Amplifi has continued to see a growing need to build international capabilities to support their expanding list of global customers and brands requiring data management services across the world. The acquisition of Comma will immediately expand Amplifi’s global reach, provide a more comprehensive set of services and lay the foundation for their growth through acquisition strategy.
The acquisition will also expand the addressable market for each company and create an opportunity to accelerate a more holistic set of consulting and technology solutions to a wider customer base and across more industries.
2. Who is Comma Group and what do they do?
Answer: Founded in 2015, Comma Group (www.comma-group.com) is an international, Gartner-recognized independent MDM and PIM consultancy. Exclusively focusing on data and information excellence, they connect data and people to realize the true value of clients’ information. Operating in the UK, US and Europe, they provide a comprehensive list of data services – including data governance, data quality, technology implementation and data migration – to well-known brands in a wide range of sectors, including retail, hospitality and manufacturing.
3. Who is Amplifi and what do they do?
Answer: Founded in 2008, Amplifi (www.goamplifi.com) is a strategy and information management consultancy that helps the world’s leading brands, retailers, distributors, and manufacturers harness the power of their #1 asset… THEIR DATA. Amplifi provides best-in-class data consulting services that address the entire information value chain from strategy, solution definition and design to the implementation of information management technologies and solutions. Consistently recognized as a leader by Gartner on the Market Guide for MDM External Service Providers report, Amplifi provides strategic consulting and implementation services for industry-leading B2B and B2C companies through its offices in the United States.
4. How will the combined entity operate moving forward?
Answer: One of the key decisions during the acquisition process for both companies was to determine cultural fit and shared values. It was very clear early on that both companies have a culture that is incredibly aligned with a shared vision filled with passion for data and people. To make sure this lives on, all of Comma’s founders, leadership team and employees will continue to operate business as usual. Our integration team has developed a roadmap where culture is the first priority. Together we have also over-prepared to make sure the integration initiatives are focused on business impact, customer value and employee satisfaction.
Comma Group will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amplifi, and will operate under the name Comma, part of Amplifi.
Founding members Leigh Wells and Sam Goss – Comma Group, will be immediately added to Amplifi’s Board of Directors and manage the day to day operations of Comma Group as usual.
Amplifi plans to announce its global leadership team within 100 days of the transaction.
5. What does this acquisition mean for customers?
Answer: Customers can expect business as usual from both companies for the near term, but moving ahead, we expect to provide customers a much more robust services catalog for data strategy, consulting services, managed services and technology solutions. Other benefits include:
