In non-COVID times, Based mainly in Comma’s Warwick/Birmingham office with some flexibility for remote working. For the duration of the pandemic, based mostly at home with ad hoc days in the office where permitted by government guidelines.

The focus of your role:

New business is essential to the successful growth of the organization and you will be supporting the Business Development team in the critical role of building and nurturing the pipeline of new leads and opportunities.

Working with social media channels as well as phone and email you’ll be handling inbound enquiries from prospective new clients, finding out more about their data management requirements and identifying opportunities for Comma to offer services.

You’ll also be proactively reaching out to target organizations to connect with relevant stakeholders and make them aware of Comma’s services.

You’ll be supporting events and campaigns run by Comma’s marketing team and you’ll be responsible for ensuring the company’s data records of client interactions is kept up to date.

By working in our Warwick or Birmingham offices as much as possible you’ll have direct access to support from colleagues. In non-COVID times you’d be expected in the office most days, with some potential flexibility to work from home.

You’ll also be expected to travel from time to time (in non-COVID times), to join members of the BD team in client meetings and presentations, as well as to join Comma events taking place in various cities in the UK and occasionally Europe.

What you’ll bring:

You’ll be a persistent, determined and goal-oriented person who has excellent written and spoken communication skills and a confident telephone manner.

You’ll have experience working, most likely in a technology sales or telephone-oriented sales role.

You need to be outgoing and confident to speak to and connect with many different people on a daily basis. You’ll be able to ask open questions to gain an understanding of a client’s needs, and able to articulate (at a high level) Comma’s value proposition and how this can benefit the client

You will have the ability to work with all levels of professionals within a business, including Board Executives, Directors, Business Managers, IT Managers and Solution Architects etc.

Ability to multi-task and prioritise a high-volume workload as appropriate

Ability to work independently and manage own time effectively without supervision

A self-starter, proactive, resilient with a positive, “can-do” and “roll-up-the-sleeves” mentality to get the job done

Excellent administration and organisation skills with attention to detail

Proficiency in MS Office especially Outlook, Excel and Word. High standard of spelling and grammar.
