Usually based in Comma head office (Birmingham/Warwick) with some flexibility for remote working. For the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, based predominantly at home in accordance with government guidelines.

The focus of your role:

This role will be focused on supporting the sales and marketing team in delivering the tactical elements of the marketing strategy. The key outcome of our marketing activity is generating leads that the sales team can develop into opportunities and new customers.

This role will be responsible for the following:

General activities:

Continuously maintaining an up-to-date calendar of all marketing activities, campaigns and events

Maintaining the creation of/creating a range of informative content, digital brochures and datasheets as collateral to be available for prospective clients. Ensuring that all presentation materials, proposal templates and collateral issued by Comma comply with brand standards and are representative of Comma’s quality.

Liaising with external agencies and service providers including creative, digital marketing and website development

Manage updates to website content

Support the creation of marketing concepts for core services (e.g. data migration, integration) and collaborate with subject experts to create messaging and content.

Manage Comma external communications such as social media posts, press releases, newsletters etc.

Lead generation campaigns

Support the delivery of coordinated campaigns comprising email marketing, social media and other appropriate channels, to support the generation of new leads and enquiries.

Support the content creation process for lead generation campaigns

Supporting campaign tracking in CRM and ensuring a high level of data quality is maintained.



External Events (industry, vertical & partner events):

Research, identify and plan key events that will support Comma’s marketing strategy.

Build relationships with event organisers to secure long-term positive relationships.

Coordinate pre/post-event activity to ensure investment is maximized and events are executed efficiently.

Contribute to post-event review meetings to gather feedback, review and measure success of an event and maintain a log to improve future investment decisions.

Alliances Marketing:

Support delivery of joint marketing activities such as partner events, joint webinars, email campaigns, and joint sponsorship of events with Comma’s alliance partners

Liaise with alliance partner’s marketing teams as required to execute against the agreed plan

Coordinate internal Comma resources to deliver alliance marketing activities

Internal Events & Communications (when appropriate):

Coordinate all internal events for Comma, including:

Monthly Comma socials – including the promotion of these events via Eventbrite & Social media, coordination of venue hire, coordination of speakers etc.

Internal People Operations events – including Comma Company Days, Comma Charity days and Comma Christmas parties.

Any future currently unplanned Comma events – e.g. a Comma Customer Conference.

Co-ordination of internal communications through the use of Slack and email.

What we’d like you to bring:

Persistence, determination and goal-oriented approach with excellent written and spoken communication skills and a confident telephone manner.

A self-starter, proactive, resilient with a positive “can-do” and “roll-up-the-sleeves” mentality to get the job done

You will have marketing experience and ideally have a recognized, formal marketing qualification.

An outgoing and confident personality, ready to speak to and connect with many different people daily.

Ability to multi-task and prioritise a high-volume workload as appropriate, and to work with multiple external service providers, client contacts at all levels of seniority, partner marketing teams

Ability to work independently and manage own time effectively without supervision but also to know when to ask for assistance

Excellent administration and organisation skills with a high level of attention to detail

Proficiency in MS Office especially Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint. High standard of spelling and grammar.

Proficiency in Web Content Management Systems would be an advantage but is not essential

Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management systems (especially Insightly CRM) would be an advantage but is not essential

Proficiency in email marketing systems would be an advantage but is not essential

Experience managing social media posts etc

The ability to spot new innovative ways of working

Ability to write content and pick up the Comma tone of voice
